Actualmente existen varios sistemas de dispensación de medicamentos implantados en el sistema nacional de salud formando parte del trabajo diario de enfermería.

Reducir el riesgo y número de errores de medicación, optimizar las cargas de trabajo y garantizar la disponibilidad de la medicación segura, correcta y eficiente para cubrir las necesidades terapéuticas del paciente en las unidades de enfermería son algunas de las ventajas que ofrecen las uevas tecnologías aplicadas en la cadena del medicamento.

 El objetivo de este trabajo es ofrecer una revisión de los principales avances tecnológicos relacionados y aplicados al circuito de dispensación-administración que se vienen implantando hasta hoy a nivel hospitalario y domiciliario.

Para ello, se ha realizado una búsqueda bibliográfica consultándose manuales y revistas en soporte papel y electrónico, que contenían aspectos informativos de estos últimos avances. En el intento de aportar una mayor evidencia, se ha incluido en la búsqueda diferentes artículos y ponencias sobre estudios que demuestran la eficacia y seguridad de estas tecnologías en diferentes hospitales.

 Finalizamos concluyendo que dichas tecnologías suponen una alternativa que favorecen que la práctica enfermera sea más segura y eficaz, garantizando y asegurando un mejor cuidado evitando que la práctica se convierta en una amenaza grave para la seguridad de los pacientes y la calidad prestada.  

At the moment several systems of medecine dispensation exist implanted in the national system of health forming part of the daily work of infirmary.

To reduce to the risk and number of medication errors, to optimize the service loads and to guarantee the availability of the safe, correct and efficient medication to cover the therapeutic needs with the patient in the units with infirmary are some of the advantages that offer the new technologies applied in the chain of the medicine.

The objective of this work is to offer a revision of the main technological advances related and applied to the circuit of dispensation-administration that comes implanting until today to hospitable and domiciliary level.

For it, a bibliographical search has been realised consulting manuals and magazines in support electronic paper and, that informative aspects of these last advances contained. With the attempt to contribute a greater evidence, it is had including in the search different articles and communications on studies that demonstrate to the effectiveness and security of these technologies in different hospitals.

We finalize concluding that these technologies suppose an alternative that favor that the practical nurse is safer and effective, guaranteeing and assuring a better care avoiding than the practice it becomes a serious threat for the security of the patients and the given quality.
